All about colonics

What is Colonic Irrigation ?

Colon hydrotherapy, is a safe, effective method of removing waste from the large intestine, without the use of drugs. By introducing filtered and temperature regulated water into the colon, the waste is softened and loosened, resulting in evacuation through natural peristalsis. This process is repeated a few times during a session. Generally a course of three colonic irrigation treatments are recommended.

How is Colonic Irrigation done?

These days advanced colonic irrigation equipment is used to ensure that colonics are private and easy. The colonic irrigation treatment is administered by a trained professional. A very small tube carries warm purified water into the body , which is then released away.

Is there a bad smell during colonics?

With advanced methods there is no exposure of matter, no odours and no loss of privacy at any time. In many cases, the treatment takes no more than 40 minutes.

Can colonic irrigation wash away gut flora or microbiomes?

No. Not according to any studies carried out. For more information on the relationship between microbiome and gut flora, and other studies done with colonics the I-ACT website offers a reading resource.

Will I lose weight with colonics?

Nobody can promise weight loss during a colonic, but people do undertake the treatment for inch loss and often report seeing changes in weight of up to 3 LBS. On the GMTV “Drop A Dress Size Challenge” with Lorraine Keane filmed at Harley Street London, there was that exact outcome.

Small steps to wellbeing can make all the difference. Try these healthy lifestyle changes to enhance an overall diet and health programme.
Allow yourself a little extra sleep, whether it’s by going to bed a half-hour earlier or by sleeping in an extra fifteen minutes and then skipping your usual morning coffee stop.
2. Take a day off from exercising if you usually run, go to the gym, or participate in some type of aerobic class.
3. Skip the stairs and take the elevator or escalator—sometimes it’s perfectly OK to choose the path of least resistance!
4. Replace strenuous exercise with something less intense, like restorative yoga.
5. Relax in a sauna or steam room to relax your muscles and sweat out chemicals that build up in your body.
6. Utilize a detoxifying colonic irrigation cleanse to clear out toxins and give your digestive organs a break.
7. Take a break from alcohol, processed food, and sugar if a cleanse feels too extreme.
8. Get a massage or trade massages with someone you love. Massages are not only relaxing; they’ve also been proven to minimize anxiety, boost the immune system, and reduce depression and anxiety.
9. Take a long, hot bath to take weight off your weary muscles and joints. Many people find adding salts can help.
10. Be mindful of your posture at your desk at work and take breaks to walk around and stretch. This one is smart on any day—hunching over our computers can cause major back and neck pain!
